Releases

September 14, 2018

  • Several improvements to the framework and bugfixes.
  • The location tracking in the Android SDK is improved.
  • We improved the security and reliability of our servers and databases, and further extended the notification flow.
  • Additional logging is added to the API endpoints, and the geofence and consent flow endpoints are improved.
  • The matching algorithm was further improved, for instance, the geographic location of a POI is now represented by a polygon instead of the point. In addition, about 3000 new places are added to our dataset.

Data science

The changes to our datasets and algorithms are documented per version update below.

v1.2.0 – 12/09/2018

  • We now represent the geographic location of a POI by a polygon instead of a point to improve matching quality.
  • About 3000 new places are added to our dataset, mainly from the hotels and swimming pools categories.
  • The quality of the matching algorithm is further improved.

v1.1.0 – 07/08/2018

  • More than 15.000 POIs are added to our database, covering over 25 new place categories.
  • The municipalities of Belgium are added to our database, to detect for instance in which municipalities the app users live, work and shop.
  • Improved matching algorithm based on thorough testing and feedback.
  • Improved the scalability of the algorithms to handle a lot more coordinates of much more users.

v1.0.0 – 10/07/2018

  • 55.000 POIs are added to our database (of already +100K POIs), located in Belgium and covering over 150 place categories.
  • The matching algorithm was improved to raise accuracy and tested thoroughly.
  • The frequent location detection algorithm (for home, work, favorite places etc) was finalised and tested thoroughly.
  • Segment prediction models were implemented for different categories such as socio-demo, location, technology usage, category behaviour, brand relationship, leisure and commuting behaviour. A first set of intent behaviours is being tested.
